Baltic Memories - 2017 - Tallinn

Tallinn, Estonia

(June 2017)

Tallinn

Our next port of call was Tallinn in Estonia.  We docked at 8 am and after breakfast we disembarked and took the shuttle bus into Tallinn.
We arrived at the city walls and half the bus load went in one direction and the others went in another direction, so we just decided to go our own way and walked through a park and into the main tourist area.  There are two parts to the city, the lower and upper, but of course there is a lot of walking to get there.  We couldn't believe how beautiful Tallinn was but the cobblestone roads were very hard on our feet but we continued onwards and upwards passing many beautiful buildings and many touristy shops.

We stopped for lunch at a little cafe and decided on a glass of wine and a cheese platter and it was just what we needed and it was the best cheese platter we have had, well we were so tired anything would have been good, but when you are in such a beautiful city everything was good!

There was even a Macca's

The only problem, and it was a major problem, was that my camera decided not to work despite trying to change batteries and the SD card, but nothing seemed to help, so I had to use my phone which doesn't take a very good photo, but better than nothing.

Thankfully, Ron took a lot of really good  photos , so I have been able to post his photos to fill in the gaps when my camera failed.

I hope the photos show just how beautiful the city of Tallinn is, and I would love to go back there and spend more time as we really didn't have enough time to really enjoy and see all there is, but we saw a lot and I am very grateful for that.

We had researched Tallinn a little and knew it was a beautiful city but we were surprised at how beautiful it was and wished we had more time there, but after about 5 hours walking up and down the cobbled streets we were very tired and pleased to be catching the bus back to the ship.
